The Perfect Shade

I am forever trying to conquer my nail biting habit. The year I got engaged, I started regularly painting my nails in the hopes that I would stop biting and be able to proudly show my bling on non-ragged cuticles. As I’ve had children, I’ve stopped biting out of necessity. My hands are in a good amount of poop per day and that’s not something I’d like to put in my mouth.

I wish I could afford to have a manicure every week, but since I can’t, I do my own. This past year, I’ve been in search for the perfect pink: not too girly, but not too sheer. Today, I was cleaning out my nail stuff and found eight different shades…I think I might have a problem:

In my defense, I do use all of these alternately. And one was a gift…and I got two of the OPIs for a great price on Amazon. Who am I kidding? It’s ridiculous to have this many similar shades. Please don’t tell Drew.

P.S. Oh, and in case you like perfectly pretty shades and are wondering, my favorite so far is OPI’s Bubble Bath.

Tara - An.Dre.A. I have this SAME photo that I took a few months ago with all of my dark purple nail polishes. I took the photo because I thought, this is a problem and I have to document this. So funny :) It’s just hard to find the perfect shade!

Angie N - This picture could have come directly from where I store my nail polish. I’ve been on the same hunt – that perfect neutral shade.

OPI’s Bubble Bath is a great one, but I’m partial to Essie’s Ballet Slippers slightly more than Bubble Bath. But I’m pretty sure that’s the one you’ve got in the picture above, so you already know that ;)

jolie - OH MY GOSH. THIS IS AMAZING NEWS. I too have been looking for the perfect pink. OPI bubble bath has been on my list for months. Although I had this “D’oh” moment where I was like, why don’t I try that pink I use for french manicures, just without the white? It looks pretty damn good. I’m just embarrassed my brain didn’t think of it sooner.

Sarah Worley - Have you ever tried Zoya nail polish? Best polish I’ve ever used. I used to hate painting my nails because it would always chip, but with Zoya I’ve been able to paint my nails and have it last a full week with no chips. They also have color spoons you can order if you’re not sure of the color and want to get a sample before buying. You can get Zoya at Ulta or on zoya.com.
